Going back to Phoenix
Dear Subscribers,
I hate hot weather. I prefer winter in Michigan over summer ten times out of ten. As soon as it gets above 75 degrees, all I want to do is hide away in my basement like a troll. Yet, this upcoming weekend I’m going to St John Vianney parish outside of Phoenix, AZ. The desert. Where it’s over 100 degrees.
In 2019, Monica Pope, a ministry partner and friend, and I led a Kerygma Encounter retreat for SJV parish. It was the first time I had traveled out of state to lead a retreat for a parish outside my diocese. The Lord showed up, and so did over 100 parishioners. It was a privilege and blessing to be a part of God’s work in this parish.
