Podcast: Episode Twelve
The first season of the Pope Francis Generation podcast has come to an end. The final episode is now out on Youtube and in podcast feeds!
The topic for this week is challenging. A subscriber asked if we would talk about homosexuality. I’ve considered discussing this topic on the podcast for a while but I’ve felt really uncomfortable talking about a group of people who have been marginalized when I’m A) not in that minority, and B) I’ve participated in the marginalization. However, as I sat with the suggestion more, I realized that I have a lot to say to the Church about how we—how I—have done a lot of harm in the ways we have misunderstood and misused the Church’s teaching. I pray this discussion was respectful, challenging, and faithful to the Good News.
Also, as I said, this is the final episode of our first season! Dominic and I are taking a couple months off to rest and prepare for season two. And we’d like your help! Paul and Dominic walk through what the Catechism says about homosexuality in order explain what the Church teaches, what the Church does not teach, and how Catholics need to live up to what our own faith calls us to.
