Season two of the Pope Francis Generation podcast is now live! You can watch it on Youtube or look for it in your podcast feed!
We will be spending this season talking about Catholic Social Teaching. We are going to discuss some of the history and development of Catholic Social Teaching, walk through the four main principles (the infinite dignity of the human person, the common good, subsidiarity, and solidarity), and share stories about our own attempts to integrate CST into our lives.
And we are interviewing several awesome guests this season, experts in economics, business, theology, and social justice advocacy. They are individuals who I have followed and respected for a long time, and it is a total privilege to be speaking with them.

Paul and Dominic kick off Season Two by asking, what is Catholic Social Teaching? They share stories about how they first came across this “best-kept secret” of the Church’s tradition before Paul launches into the history and development of the Church’s social doctrines. Catholic Social Teaching challenges every political ideology and calls for Christians to embrace the “upside down” thinking of Jesus.
“Certainly, all this calls for an alternative way of thinking. Without an attempt to enter into that way of thinking, what I am saying here will sound wildly unrealistic. On the other hand, if we accept the great principle that there are rights born of our inalienable human dignity, we can rise to the challenge of envisaging a new humanity. We can aspire to a world that provides land, housing and work for all. This is the true path of peace.” (Pope Francis, Fratelli Tutti)
